DESCRIPTION:Please join Michigan EIBC in Lansing on Monday\, February 25 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm for a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Lunch Networking Meeting & Tour at Michigan CAT. \nOur featured speaker for the meeting will be Graeme Miller\, Energy Policy Analyst with the Energy Resources Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). \nAt the ERC\, Mr. Miller works as on energy policy issues for the US DOE Midwest Combined Heat and Power Technical Assistance Partnership. In his current research\, Mr. Miller focuses on identifying\, quantifying\, and addressing barriers to clean distributed generation technologies such as combined heat and power (CHP)\, waste heat to power (WHP)\, district energy (DE)\, and energy efficiency (EE) installations. Mr. Miller specializes in utility rate policy\, focusing on how utility rates affect combined heat and power deployment. He has submitted testimony in utility rate cases and efficiency filings before the the Iowa Utility Board\, the Missouri Public Service Commission\, the Minnesota Public Utility Commission\, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.  Mr. Miller has also presented on CHP topics before the Indiana State Senate. Mr. Miller is a member of the International District Energy Association (IDEA)\, the U.S. Combined Heat and Power Association\, the Alliance for Industrial Efficiency\, and he currently serves on the policy committee of the Midwest Cogeneration Association. \nAfter the meeting\, attendees will tour Michigan CAT. It is a state-of-the-art full service facility for the power systems\, heavy equipment\, and truck segments of their business. On the tour\, attendees will see the parts department and service shops\, including the 8\,000 square foot gas engine overhaul facility. Additionally\, guests will tour the paint booth and get a chance to see a 5000 HP dynamometer for testing of both gas and diesel engines. The tour will give guests a chance to get up close with some of the large equipment and provide a glimpse into the many different markets Michigan CAT serves. \n  \nTentative Timeline: \n11:00 – 11:30 am – Registration \n11:30 – 12:00 pm – Buffet Lunch & Networking \n12:00 – 12:15 pm – Welcome and Introductions by Michigan EIBC and Michigan CAT \n12:15 – 12:45 pm – Guest Speaker – Graeme Miller \n12:45 – 1:30 pm – Tour of Michigan CAT \n  \nThis meeting is free for Michigan EIBC members and $25 for non-members. \n
