Welcome to the weekly newsletter of the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council (Michigan EIBC), the business voice for advanced energy in Michigan. Here’s what’s new this week:
EIBC and Clean Fuels Michigan Celebrate Implementation of the Clean Bus Energy Grant

Michigan EIBC and Clean Fuels Michigan sent a letter to the Michigan Department of Education congratulating it on its successful implementation of the Clean Bus Energy Grant program. The program secured $125 million in funding in FY 2024, and has so far deployed 226 electric school buses and 41 propane buses across 75 participating school districts.
Michigan EIBC and Clean Fuels Michigan celebrate the program’s success delivering cleaner, healthier, and more cost effective transportation to Michigan communities, and look forward to a continued partnership with the Education Department.
Michigan Joins Lawsuit Protecting NEVI
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel joined a multistate lawsuit over federal funding for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. NEVI was created under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to deploy EV charging stations across the country. It appropriated $87 million to Michigan, $29 million of which was paused by the Trump administration earlier this year.
Attorney General Nessel said the administration’s funding halt “jeopardizes Michigan’s EV infrastructure, while threatening our economic growth and environmental progress.”

With advancements in battery storage, EV chargers, and smart panels, Strawberry Solar has evolved into a full-fledged energy management company, not just a solar installer.
