Welcome to the weekly newsletter of the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council (Michigan EIBC), the business voice for advanced energy in Michigan. Here’s what’s new this week:
Michigan EIBC Submits Building Code Comments

Michigan EIBC submitted comments today on the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs’ 2024 commercial building energy codes. We proposed requiring the adoption of EV charging infrastructure requirements, electric buildings readiness, demand response controls readiness, and energy storage systems readiness for new buildings.
Setting standards for building electrification, battery usage, and renewable energy reliance will help building owners reduce future retrofit costs, address grid resiliency and reliability issues, and lower utility bills.
EIBC’s Networking Reception was a Success!
Thank you to all those who joined us in Lansing for a networking reception with Michigan EIBC members, legislators, and staff. Michigan EIBC members talked with House and Senate staff, forging connections and discussing important energy priorities as we continue our advocacy with policymakers.
