Newsletter: New team member, battery manufacturing report, and more

Welcome to the weekly newsletter of the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council (Michigan EIBC), the business voice for advanced energy in Michigan. Here’s what’s new this week:

She previously worked as a Sustainability Consultant at Weaver, driving internal internal sustainability and guiding clients through voluntary and mandatory sustainability reporting. Her prior experiences include sustainable communications, carbon accounting, energy credit compliance (M-RETS and TERC), and environmental permitting. Abby received a B.S. in Environment specializing in Sustainable Business with minors in Energy Science and Policy and Earth Science from the University of Michigan.

Welcome to the team, Abby!

New Report Shows Significant Battery Manufacturing Progress

A new report released by the Energy Storage Coalition shows that the energy storage industry is poised to supply 100% of domestic energy storage projects with American-built battery systems. U.S. systems manufacturing capacity is at 70 GWh and expected to more than double by the end of 2026, reaching 146 GWh.

As demand grows and speed to power becomes essential, energy storage will become an important resource to provide affordable and reliable energy to power grids. The energy storage sector is expected to generate more than 350,000 jobs as a result of this growth.
